Persevering Through “Uncertain Times” Kayla Fassio Talks Mental Health With Venue Retreat

Kayla Fassio takes the time to share her thoughts with Venue Retreat about persevering through a year of change, struggle, uncertainty that has taken most of our physical and mental health through places we never thought possible.

Let’s delve in the mind of a fitness and wellness professional to see her ways of coping in our current climate of the unknown.

Kayla Fassio sits down to share her advice with Venue Retreat about perseverance in difficult times.

The past year has been difficult for many reasons, and altered our way of living virtually overnight. The sudden change in lifestyle has been emotionally tolling and has negatively affected both our mental and physical health. Whatever setback in your personal growth you experienced is valid, but to continue that journey, we must adapt to the times and find a little extra self motivation.

Best place to start is by creating a daily routine. Doesn’t have to be really complicated, or jam-packed; it is more of a guide to help you keep a consistent schedule throughout. This will help create a sense of normalcy in your day to day life as well as regulate your body by creating structure.

Kayla Fassio says, “…meditation and a healthy sleep pattern can be key to mental and physical health.”

Things you want to include

  • Wake up and sleep time (regulate your sleep cycle)

  • Time required for work

  • Eating times (to keep the binge snacking from happening)

  • Physical activity (Engage the body such as taking a walk, Pilates, dancing, swimming)

  • Mental activity (Engage the mind. My go ‘tos’ being journaling, meditating)

  • Personal time (Do something for yourself that makes you happy. Be it a bath, a facial, reading a book, painting)

Remember that this journey is your own. You will go at whatever pace suits you the best, focusing on whatever you truly want to work on. By believing and trusting in yourself, you will persevere.
