Activity Space

Ataraxia has two dedicated facilitation spaces: one restaurant area that can be used for lectures and group discussions, and a stunning yoga deck which can be used for yoga and other more dynamic activities.

Our jungle yoga deck has a warm, natural feel with a beautiful hardwood floor. The shala is open on all sides with views of both the jungle and the Caribbean sea and is large enough to accommodate up to 15 people, The sounds of the tropical jungle, monkeys, and birds, create the perfect musical background for a serene and nature-inspired yoga experience.

Ataraxia Lodge offers an authentic experience in a beautiful environment where your guests can escape from the outside world into a haven filled with fun, friendship, laughter and renewal.

Enjoy our beautiful 11 acres jungle property facing the Caribbean sea and coral reefs in the archipelago of Bocas Del Toro. The lodge is energetically self-sufficient so we ask all of our guests to be mindful of their water and electricity consumption.

Our location on Isla Bastimentos allows you to do as little or as much as you desire. You can choose between practicing yoga in our yoga shala overlooking jungle and sea, or spending all day lounging in a hammock, swimming & snorkelling the neighbouring reef, take a kayak adventure, go diving, surfing or go explore all that Bocas archipelago has to offer and keep your eyes out for the sloths, monkeys, and other wildlife that live in the area.

Whatever type of retreat you are looking to host, we aim to provide a perfect retreat experience. Ataraxia is a family-run business, with owners Pierre & Manon living on the property. We strive to be welcoming, accommodating to your requests, and to make you feel at home while being discreet. We look forward to having you here, and sharing our piece of paradise with you!

Guest Bedrooms

Bedrooms: 6 ensuite
Number of beds: 11 including separate accommodation for the retreat leader

There are 6 ensuite bedrooms that can accommodate up to 14 guests:
1 double room with double bed and garden view
1 room with 1 double bed, 1 single bed, and garden view
1 shared room with 1 double bed, 2 single beds, and garden view
These three bedrooms are located in a building a few meters away from the sea and are rather simple. They enjoy a shared area with sofas and hammocks.

There are 2 jungalows, which can be arranged as a twin share or king-size bed. The jungalows enjoy a sea view, and private balcony with a hammock and sofa.

Teacher’s accommodation is in a small jungle cabin with a double bed and its own balcony.

All bedrooms have a private bathroom with cold-water shower, toilet and sink. The tropical climate of Bocas del Toro makes cold showers a treat. The bedrooms have ceiling fans to ensure air flow and comfortable temperatures.

Full Board

We offer a vegetarian-based, eclectic blend of local and international cuisine and can cater for all meals. We’re used to catering for all dietary requirements when requested in advance: vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free. Just let us know what your guests need, and we'll be happy to help.

If you prefer to bring your own chef, that’s also a possibility.

Cleaning

A quick sweep of the rooms daily is included in the rental price. Towels and bed linens are changed every 3 days to reduce our use of water.

Services

Activities: We offer some kayaks and snorkelling equipment to explore the pretty reef right in front of our property. Enjoy wildlife-watching.

Excursions: We can organise excursions and day trips to the nearby sights for your group to enjoy all the extraordinary places that Bocas Del Toro offers such as a visit of the coral restoration, tour of a neighbouring organic farm, snorkelling tour, group surf lesson, diving.

Eco Practices

We are committed to sustainable business practices, therefore Ataraxia runs off the grid. The water supply entirely depends on rain collection and the electricity is solar and produced on-site.
